Planet of the Apes (1968)

1. Is Planet of the Apes fundamentally racist or not?

2. What does Heston (and by extention America) come to realize over the course of the film?  (more than one thing)

3. If, after the muman race is destroyed and simians (monkeys, chimps, apes, etc.) evolve to replace us, a DVD of this film is found in a ruined old high school, how would those simians judge us?  Or in other words, if evolved apes a thousand years in the future watched this movie after we destroyed ourselves, what would they think of our predictions about them?
