French Revolution essay

With which of the following stages of the French Revolution would you feel most comfortable?  Basically, where do you wish things had ended up?  Why was that phase so good?  What did it accomplish and what did it avoid?  Explain.

1.  Allow Louis XVI to reign as a constitutional monarch.  Elect a National Assembly where all the people of France will be represented equally.  Enshrine the Declaration of the Rights of Man as a key document.  The Church and Nobles will be allowed to keep their lands. (Liberal Revolution)

2. Execute Louis XVI since he will not resign as king.  Run France as a democratic republic.  Take excess lands from the Church and the Nobility.  Execute the enemies of the Revolution.  End slavery and allow every man to vote.  Use France's army to export the democratic Revolution. (Radical Revolution)

3. Allow Napoleon to take over France.  He will rule as an enlightened dictator.  No one will vote, but everyone will be equal.  Spread the Revolution's legal ideas and the power of France through war.
